Marstal + David's Wedding
Marstal & David tied the knot on March 23, 2013 at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans, LA. The couple decided to do a first look in the french quarter. We thought we were going to get rained out, but luckily the clouds parted moments before we started pictures. Marstal & David married at the sea lion exhibit at the Audubon Zoo. The Bucktown All Stars kept the guests dancing all night with their upbeat horn powered R&B style. They ended a fun night with a second line. Marstal had two parasols custom made for her and her husband that read "Dr." & "Mrs." This couple was really fun and very in love!

We met November 2006 in New Orleans, while we were both graduate students at Tulane (David was in Medical School and Marstal was at the School of Public Health). We got to know one and other better over the next few months during many study hours in the library and delicious meals at many of the city's unique restaurants. The adventure continued, as we shared our love of delta blues on a roadtrip to Memphis, one Hurricane evacuation, an epic road trip up the California Pacific Coast Highway, and countless memorable Big Easy moments during Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras, and French Quarter Fest.
In late January 2011, we planned a long weekend exploring wineries in Paso Robles,CA, intending to camp on the cliffs of Big Sur. Mother Nature had other plans however and David had to scramble to explain why we should visit the beach in the rain.... "we need to walk Teak (our chocolate Labrador daughter)," he stated. While Teak investigated the rocky shoreline, David asked Marstal to marry him and continue our adventure in Minnesota. Marstal, of course, said yes.
