"July 4th 2014 weekend trip to Lake George NY and Saratoga Performing Arts Center to see PHISH. We both have a love for the band PHISH. They typically play 3 nights of shows at SPAC for 4th of July weekend. Jack, myself, and a bunch of mutual friends had made it a habit to make camping out and seeing PHISH our 4th of July weekend tradition. This particular year we rented a cabin in Lake George for a couple nights. Jack and I began to get to know each other over grilling and drinking games. We quickly realized how much we both loved live music, travel, hiking, fishing, and the outdoors. The last night of our trip we spent dancing away together.
Almost two years after we were dating, Jack planned a trip for us out to Colorado where he used to live. He rented a condo for us at Breckenridge backing up to one of the slopes with a pristine pine forrest and slow moving creek out back. While we were walking around the quant town, he found a picturesque spot with the mountains in the background. There he stopped asking his friends to take pictures of us looking up to the mountain tops. As I was looking away he fished a small box out of his jacket pocket and got down on one knee. He only managed to bumble out a few words of "I Love You," and "Happiest man for the rest of my life" to which I squeaked out a Yes!
We first knew we were meant to be each other's soulmate when our cat and dog first met and became best friends. In addition for the affection towards one another, our pets' names were a clear indication that we were supposed to be together. His cat is named Gandalf and my dog is named Vader. It seemed as though destiny kept showing giving us hints we were meant to be together."
